That pipe you see sticking up is what he wanted to check.
This side of the house will be my office, then a bathroom then Joe's office.
Behind the offices is the great room.
This is the east side of the house, where I plan to plant hydrangeas for morning sun!
This is a plastic waterproofing material that they put all around the house, below grade.. We had never seen this before.
So, this is where we are today. It is hard to believe that in a few months we will be living there!!! Thanks for stopping by. I will join a few parties:

Pinky,
ReplyDeleteGreat photos...no seriously!!! Documenting all the pipes and plumbing lay out with photos will be a huge help should there ever be any questions in the future!!!Love that you are already planning your planting guides!!!Thanks for the updates!!! Let the progress continue!
Fondly,
Pat
I haven't seen that waterproofing material before either. Sounds like a great idea! What a wonderful basement you have planned. We just experienced a new ice machine on our houseboat and wish we had one at home. How wonderful! It seems long but it will be done in no time!
ReplyDeleteWow, looks like they're using the latest in building materials, like the waterproofing one in your new house! I love all your plans for the house and yes, it's fun making it, we did that once too, the worst is the waiting to be finished, lol..I couldn't wait to move, now I can't wait to see YOUR house all finished up! Thanks for sharing Pinky.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Wow! You are really getting a new house! Thanks for sharing all the pictures, I'm anxious to watch the progress.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a good builder who pays attention to details that are so important.
I can't wait to see it in person!
Pinky,
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy it is to have a home built for you - even though, at times it can be crazy! LOL!! The house my hubby and I are living in, is the 3rd house I've built from scratch - 1st for hubby.
That waterproofing material is supposedly the BEST you can get!! That's awesome!
Jan ♥
Pinky, you really picked a great place to live. And they seem to be doing a spectacular job building your new home! You will be so happy to have a log of all the progress going on at your house site!
ReplyDeleteI want to come over and have a drink at your bar! xo
Gee, this looks very similar to the community I live in! What state is this? Your waterproofing system seems much better. Ours looked like it was coated with tar - "something very old fashion". Taking pictures really comes in handy. You can look back and see where the actual plumbing and wiring is located in case you might want to do any additional work. This certainly brings back memories! And I love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat progress....has the builder given you an estimated date of completion?....Thanks for sharing your excitement!!....
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you. and I think it's very exciting to see a house built. I enjoy seeing your photos.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
You are so smart to photograph all of that. Tom took pictures of all the duct work and electrical stuff before they put the walls up. It makes such a difference when we started planning where to build things in the house! I am so excited for you!
ReplyDeleteI can understand your excitement. I think we are going to build a new city house. We are talking to a builder this week. We are going to move closer to town where my hubby works. Then we'll keep the ranch too. He drives an hour each way and the new house will cut the drive to 15 mins. This is exciting to see your house go up.
ReplyDeleteI think it's exciting to learn about the foundation, too!
ReplyDeleteStacy
Wow~ the waterproofing sounds fantastic~thanks for sharing that!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are moving right along. Building the right foundation is true about all sorts of things!!Looks like they are making sure yours will be strong and DRY. Have a wonderful weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous Pinky, another step in your journey.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a plan of your home. I am looking at the back of the house behind your lot. It looks very much like the size house we are looking for. We found a cute cottage style home, we are considering. We think we might buy an existing house, then the next day we think we will build. I don't know what will end up doing. But we do need to do some serious thinking!! Enjoying our much needed time at the lake for the moment! Like Scarlett O'Hara said, tomorrow is another day or however she said it.LOL
Wishing you all the best. I am so excited for you!
Hi Pinky! Oh, I'm so glad the pipe is in the correct place for y'all! :) I'm thrilled for you too getting your new house. I've never gotten to build a house or never have had a new house but I'll be enjoying your journey with you! Looks like a beautiful neighborhood too!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Soooo exciting, Pinky! You'll love that you've documented your dream home being built! Thanks for taking us along ... look forward to seeing more!
ReplyDeleteBuilding a house is such an exciting and stressful time all at once. The good thing though, is that you get to keep a careful eye on things throughout the process. You will get a better built house for sure. That's a great idea to use waterproofing material below the ground. Basements have a tendency to leak if not constructed properly. We had our house built, that we're living in now, and the one prior to this. It's so much fun seeing the progress!
ReplyDeleteOH, your new house is going to be beautiful! I can't wait to see photos of the hydrangeas in bloom! I hope the construction time passes quickly for you!
ReplyDeleteHugs. GraceinAZ (Pat)
Hi lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteHas the builder given you an estimated date of completion?.You are going to be so Happy in your new Beautiful home.. I hope you have a wonderful week with your family.

ReplyDeleteHi Pinky~ It's amazing how quickly things progess and how nice to know things are so far going according to plan! I know your hydrangeas will be happy with their eastern exposure and morning sun :)
ReplyDeleteHow great that you are building a new home! It will be fun to watch the progress!
ReplyDeleteHi Pinky. I am excited for you having a brand new house to make your cozy home soon. It is somewhat like waiting to give birth, enduring the long months of anticipation and then one day it's finally here(without much pain) heehee. Thanks for stopping by my blog and please visit again.------Shannon
ReplyDeleteFascinating post!! I am hosting a Giveaway to win a 50 dollar gift card to the store HomeGoods. It would be great if you stopped by and entered. Thanks Anu
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post. I've been looking to learn more primarily because me and my family have had a couple of basement leaks so we've been looking for some basement waterproofing in Edmonton. It's becoming a bit of a health hazard because of some mold and other things, so your info helped, thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting all this, I have been wondering how to do this. My friend just got into waterproofing in Winnipeg recently and now I want to do it. Sounds like it's very beneficial.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that wire mesh is part of waterproofing.

I think the plastic membrane is just to protect the tar as it’s drying, so that there are no compromised areas that water can seep into. They should’ve removed that before finishing up. But I guess that’s moot now. Hope you’re having a great time in your home!
ReplyDeleteThanks to share the information about Waterproofing the Foundation!
