Seeded Deer and an Asian Santa on the Hearth

I put together an EARLY hearth vignette last week. It has changed already but I thought I would share it with you:) I have collected Santas for over 30 years. When we moved here, a neighbor that I got to know, was moving. She asked me if I would like to come and see what Santas she was selling. YES! However, when I got there, she gave me this one, knowing my love for all things Asian! I love him!!!!
I found these deer several years ago and love them too. Love the seeds that cover them.
Of course I left one blue and white jar:)

 Then added another.

Like I said, this vignette has changed already. I have completed my decorating....except for the tweaking that I can't seem to stop:)  I am anxious to share it ALL with you!!! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with your families. We sure did. Our son was here from Fl., and stayed with his sister and got to play and have a great time with Colleen!!! He is on his way home right now. We all miss him already but are so thankful that he was here for over a week. We are all blessed.

Some Sneak Peeks of Christmas Decorating

Good morning! I have been a busy little elf these past few days and have gotten a lot done. I don't have a complete room to show you but will share some tidbits. After Thanksgiving I will be ready. I am going a little "wild" this year in certain places:) It all started with a new rug....so stay tuned on that:)
I have added a few faux pears to a garland...
I do BELIEVE!!! This pillow tells us the message of the season.
A new faux pine tree in a clay pot. I made the snowman light 100 years ago in ceramics class.
My gingerbread bar is all set in the kitchen. These little guys are stirring and baking just for you!!!
 Seasons Greetings my friends.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a beautiful day and a very Happy and blessed Thanksgiving to you all!!! We will be celebrating at our daughter and SIL's. Colleen's 3rd birthday party was Sat. and I will be sharing that in a post on Fri.
XO, Pinky

The Bonus Room, aka The Africa Room

We have a bonus room above our garage. When Joe first saw the model for this house he knew he wanted to put his train collection in the bonus room. However, that has not happened yet. I have a collection of things from Africa so they are in the bonus room now. My collection started with several things that my FIL had gotten while he was a pilot. I loved them and started adding to the collection. So, here is the room as it appears right now....pre trains;) As you come up the steps this is what you see. That doorway goes into the guest room and the bonus room is to the right.
Masks and brooms are part of my collection.

This is the view of the room from the doorway. We have it set up with a TV and stereo. When we have guests they have like their own apartment, with the bedroom, bathroom and bonus room.
The sofa is also a sofabed but so far we have not had to use it for that.

I had fun collecting the masks and artwork over the years.
The handled basket is a favorite.
The bamboo topped table seems to fit the décor.
The figurines and the drum were found years ago.
The zebra striped slipcovers on the chairs were my sons and in his dining room. The other chair is being used elsewhere at the moment:) The large basket can hold a throw in the summer.

The doll on the top shelf on the left is authentic and even though it is kinda scary looking I love it.
The LARGE platter in the stand used to sit on top of the armoire in the old guest room. However, I have some plans for a lot of these pieces. One of my rooms is being transformed and will soon have many of these things in it. Stay tuned:)
The other chair usually sits in this corner.

I placed a monkey hook in this basket.
These pictures feature a clay figure mounted on the burlap strip and matted like a shadow box.

The large basket looks like clay but it actually paper mache!

Above the doorway we hung a basket with a gourd in it and 2 masks.

This is a VERY old basket that was my Grandmother's. I placed this really neat guy in it, it reminds me of a hut.

Thanks for your visit. In this transition time right before Thanksgiving I am going to get started with my Christmas decorating. I know it is early but my son is coming for Colleens birthday next weekend and then staying for Thanksgiving, and then the day after Thanksgiving we are having a dinner party so I want to have it all ready by then. I will be BUSY for the next 2 weeks!!!

Pumpkins and Turkeys and Acorns at the Table!!!

I decided to set a kinda "pre Thanksgiving" table for us. I have these cute acorn dishes, and this runner with pumpkins and turkeys on it, so combined the 2 for a new table.

I really like this runner as it is a soft color and just has light images of the turkeys and pumpkins. The cream lace edge is so pretty.
I scattered acorns across the runner too.
I am using a brown placemat, burlap charger, rusty colored dinner plate, creamy salad and the cute acorn plates! When we have soup, I can added my creamy soup bowls.

I gathered 2 napkins; a plaid and a brown embroidered with a turkey, in a leaf napkin ring.

My little carts are filled with acorns too.

The S and P are an acorn and a pumpkin.
My centerpiece is this acorn shaped container, set on a pedestal and ringed with leaves and an acorn candle ring.

The gravy boat features leaves and acorns.

A stack of mini pumpkins on a wood slice for more texture.

The brown bamboo flatware is a staple in the Fall.

The sun shining on the turkey napkins:)
I love how the ceiling fan blades reflected in the spoons looks like a flower:)

Thanks for stopping by.
