~~~Indian Summer Images and Shadows!!!~~~
Happy Sunday everyone! We are having some BEAUTIFUL Indain Summer weather here in Pa.! It is in the high 70's and tomorrow 82 is predicted! This morning we decided to take advantage of this weather to get some MUCH NEEDED yard work done! Joe hasn't been able to mow cause the ground is (still) SO wet! He is going to try tomorrow since we did so much else today and we were TIRED!! I wanted to cut some more hydrangeas to bring in, enjoy and dry. I also wanted to blow off the back deck and front porch and driveway. Here are some pictures to enjoy.
 I am amazed at how nice the impatiens still look. This time last year they looked horrible!
 These window boxes Joe made and we stained them black. I LOVE them black!
 The impatiens around the pond are incredible! After Joe mows tomorrow we can blow the leaves around the pond too. We also plan to cover the pond with a net. We do this every year to keep the leaves out. They can give off a toxic gas that can kill the fish. We do NOT want that to happen. Plus it would be a mess to clean out in the Spring.
 I amy take some pics after he mows to show you how much nicer it will look....
 The frogs were all sunning themselves;)
 2 in this picture.
 The sun coming through the trees makes such pretty shadows that move around the yard all day now, since the sun is lower in the sky.
 AHHH, so pretty.
 I know this is gross but I didn't want to dump the bird bath til he can mow. It will be MUCH prettier tomorrow!!!!
 This dogwood, turning color.
 My geranium is flowering again!
 This begonia put out GORGEOUS flowers all summer! These pics are before I blew the deck off.
 AHH, that's better:)
 I will be bringing the ivy plant in soon, for the winter.
 Pretty fall colors in the pillow.
 This hangs in a rhododendrom out front.
 Here are some of the hydrangeas I cut. I put them in this pretty pottery vase that I got YEARS ago at a craft fair. I collected pottery for many years.
 I love the colors...
 Do you remember when I made this arrangement for the table back in early Sept.? I have had it here on the hearth and the flowers have dried perfectly in here!
 I brought the new bunch in here to see the difference.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing all this! I will be posting a recipe later so I can join Yvonne at Stone Gable for her On the Menu Monday party. I will join some of THESE parties with this post:
  3. Hi Pinky, your place still looks gorgeous! I too cut some of my hydrangea and they have dried so beautifully. I wished I had cut more. The weather here in Maryland has been beautiful the whole weekend too and tomorrow is suppose to be just as beautiful. We worked out in the yard the past two days ourselves. I'm ready for bed now....LOL!
    Enjoy your evening,
    Gail
  5. Pinky,
    Your impatients are still stunning, dear! Amazing how a little rain and cooler temperatures can bring them back to vibrant foilage and blooms, isn't it? The hydrangea are breathtaking! Hope the frogs stay awhile longer!
