~~~ Weeknight Dinner with our Daughter and Son-in-Law!!!~~~
HI everyone! Last Thursday we dogsat for our daughter and SIL so after work they came for dinner! I had chili in the freezer so it was easy to get dinner ready! We always like to do "chili mac" . That is how the kids grew up having chili! So, I set a casual table for us. I used a set of leaf placemats, my leaf salad/bread plates, and the bowls from my "Fall everyday" dishes!!! Yes, I have everyday dishes for every season:):) Mr. just shakes his head at my, ahem, addiction! Is there a 12 step program for dishaholics???? If so, I will be the leader of the pack:):)
 I used my iron pumpkin holder for our centerpiece since it takes up little room on the table.
At first I just placed the rattan covered glasses on the table. I used my brown bamboo flatware, and a green with white stripes napkin gathered up in a flower napkin ring.
 This was our bread plate. It was from Walmart last year and I haven't seen ANY Fall dishes there this year!!!!:(:( Have any of you????
 This is the placemat. I have had these for a few years and love them.
 My dollar store acorn and pumpkin S and P.
 I placed some faux pumpkins in each bowl before dinner.
 They're here, time to light the candles!!!
 Don't the colors go well together!?
 Then we decidee to have a glass of wine with dinner so I got out the leaf glasses, again from the Dollar Tree!!!!!
 Here are my cutie pie granddogs! This one is Hope.
 And here is Faith. She is older, Faith is still a baby!!! And CRAZY!!!
I will post the recipe for the chili on Sunday. Hope you will come back. I will be joining these fabulous parties!!!;
  1. Such a fun fall table! If I ever get the blue and white beat writer gig, I will definitely come to your house and you can serve me this delicious sounding chili mac ;)
  2. Your table is so pretty and festive! Dinner sounds wonderful too!
  3. Pinky, this fall table looks great! So much color and festivity! Love the use of the Dollar Tree glasses...those are a great find! I'm sure dinner was awesome! Many blessings to you!
  4. No, I haven't and I looked this year. I got the purple ones like that last year. They had tons of the ruffled plates and bowls and ony 3 or 4 cute salad plates like yours.
    Great idea to have chili in the freezer ready to go. I haven't had chili mac in years. I need to do that. I always tried to scoop up all the macaroni I could get, it was my favorite part.
  5. Hi Pinky...
    Sounds like you had a great dinner with the kids, Pinky! You certainly set a beautiful table...and all dressed up in autumn! Love, love, LOVE your pretty brown tapestry place mats with the colorful autumn leaves! You know, I have the same salad plates from Walmart but in the olive green color. I really do like the cream off white plates like you have...sure wished that I had picked that color up as well!
    Well dear friend, your beautiful table just warmed my heart! Thank you for sharing it with us!
    Love ya,
  6. Hi Pinky, love your beautiful table. The colors are so lush and inviting! I love chili and yours sounds wonderful.
    By the way, I am a dishaholic, too. Yikes!
    Hugs, Barb
  7. I am amazed by all of your lovely fall things that all work together to make for a fresh, fall table.
  8. I have those same fall glasses from the DT I bought 12 of them!
    Love your fall table and the idea of putting a faux pumpkin in the bowl!
  9. Oh Pinky, your fall table looks gorgeous....and what cute grand dogs you have. I'm looking forward to the chili..
  10. Such a pretty table, Pinky! I especially like the placemats and cutie patooty napkin rings. Take care.
  11. A beautiful tablescape, Pinky!! So perfect for Fall!!
    I did actually see nice Fall dishes in the Dollar Store of all places!! They really have been getting some nice things in lately!
  12. Pinky, your dining table looks wonderful! Full of Fall, for sure! I love your plates (I have them, in green ... and, NO, our Wal-Mart hasn't put their Fall items out yet, either!) Your iron pumpkin holder is beautiful, as is the soft candlelight! The food looks delicious, too! And, thanks so much for your kind words about my dining room at Marty's ... I sincerely appreciate it! xo
  13. A beautiful table, Pinky. I love the vibrant colors. ChiliMac is a new one for me. Can't wait for the recipe on Sunday.
  14. Pinky, you set a beautiful fall table. I like salad plates, I have them in purple...sure wish they would have them again this year at WalMart.
  15. Hi, Pinky! I haven't been to WalMart in a long time, so I don't know about the dishes. It seems to me that they would have had them out back in August or so, though. Weird. I also love "chili mac" and still make it to this day. It's good, it's hearty, it's filling...what more could you ask for? :-) If there's a 12-step program for dishaholics, I hope my husband doesn't find out about it and make me go for treatment!!!!! Dishaholics of the World, unite!!! Have a great weekend, Pinky!
  16. Pinky,
    Autumn has definately arrived in style @ your house. From the centerpiece, dishware ...right down to the menu! Yum! I adore your acorn salt & peppers! We have a granddog, also! Now about that step program for dishaholics...Sh~h~h.Just keep making deliciou meals and maybe we'll all slide by! Ha!
Thanks you for leaving your lovely comments. xo, Pinky
