One day last week, it was sunny, warm but not hot and just beautiful. So I decded to set a table for lunch on the deck. I had gotten these dishes at Home Goods a few months ago with a lunch in mind!!! My rattan hurricane was the centerpiece along with 2 smaller rattan votive holders. You know, you need "ambiance" even at lunch:):):)
Pale blue goblets for lemonade or water.
I did a fan fold for the napkins and placed them in the bowls. The dinner plate and bowl match with a floral salad plate. The placemat and napkin are a beautiful match to the salad plate and I have had them for YEARS!!!!!!!!!!
Soft, pretty, delicate colors on the placemat and napkins.
I love the beautiful design on the plates!
See how well the salad plate goes with the placemat!? I couldn't believe it when I saw these. I have decided to just purchase 2 of some of the dishes I find and can use them for lunch or dinner for 2!!!!!!
A beautiful day in a beautiful setting. Relaxing and soothing to sit and linger over a simple lunch. Thanks for stopping by. I will join Susan for Tablescape Thursday. Her button is on my sidebar or you can visit and see 100's of tables at http://www.betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ SO much inspiration to be found and we thank Susan for hosting this party every week!!!! ReplyDeleteThe colors you chose today are so pretty! I love the mix of aqua and soft colors with the ratan organic elements.

It's so neat how you can come across something new that can so perfectly match something you've had for years. This is a very magical and almost ethereal table. I'd love to join you for lunch!

ReplyDeleteI'm always completely drawn to any shade of teal. Your dinnerware is so gorgeous. Perfect for luncheon under a bluebird sky on a lovely summer day. I'd sit there all afternoon, if I could. Thank you for sharing your beautiful design. Cherry Kay

ReplyDeleteYour table is so cute. I love the turquoise and pink together. You have put together such a lovely looking table and I would love to sit there with you. Here in New Zealand it is mid winter and non stop raining. To see your lovely summer table is delightful.

Pinky, your colors are so soft and beautiful and match perfectly....I love your plates..
ReplyDeleteHugs,
This is a beautiful table. I'm loving those square plates. I am really drawn to square dinnerware lately.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful summer table! I love your new dishes! It looks so refreshing!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. I can't think of a nicer setting for a summer lunch. Your guests will love what you've created for them. Have a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteThese colors are so luscious together! I've never seen a wicker hurricane like yours -- so fabulous, especially for a summer table!
ReplyDeletePinky, another gorgeous setting by you. Love the wicker hurricane base. Very pretty colors. My bathroom really isn't that big. I almost didn't get to put the hutch there because it is in front of the shower door, but it still opens enough for us to get in as long as we don't gain a hundred pounds!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful tablescape. I love it. Your colors are so soft and so inviting. I really like how you found all the perfect dishes and linens to create such a lovely setting.
ReplyDeleteI am already a follower. I apologize that I havn't been around too much. I have gone back to work to fill in for a friend that had to have surgery and really needed to keep her job, so I am filling in for her. Being gone all week has totally messed me up on visiting. I will do my best to make it back more often. Thanks so much for being such a great friend. Hugs, Marty
Pinky, this is a very nice tablesetting. You have really pulled the colors from the placemat in the dishes you have chosen. It's almost as if they were part of a line that was meant to go together.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of purchasing just settings for two. As I run out of storage space, this idea appeals greatly to me!
A really beautiful table, Pinky. Love the florals...
ReplyDeleteI often buy only two place settings..
much less room needed for storage. I so depend on my white dishes that I have not been buying dishes in quite awhile. If I let myself, I can get carried away buying things to blog about...then, I don't use them as often as I should and have to find a place to store them. I have put a halt to more dishes...I have plenty.
hugs, bj
A beautiful table! I adore dishes and stemware, glasses, you name it. I have plenty but am always tempted...perhaps just buying 2 is what I should do! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower and look forward to getting to know you. Can't believe I was unaware of your blog. I so appreciate your stopping by...hope you will return soon!
